fwBoxStreamer + DecalsPatch: GTA 5 Enhanced Mods

The fwBoxStreamer + DecalsPatch (Enhanced) mod is designed to make GTA V Expanded & Enhanced run smoother and crash less, especially during heavy action.

Similar to fwBoxSreamer for GTA V Legacy, It increases the number of decals (bullet holes, blood splatter, tire marks, graffiti, etc.) that stay in the world before being cleared, and it fine-tunes a small streaming check to help game assets load more reliably.

All modifications are applied in memory only—no permanent changes are made to your game files. The mod comes with simple presets (Vanilla → Ultra), with Medium as the safe default for most PCs, and Ultra recommended for stronger systems.

The included ASI plugin applies two targeted in-memory patches that boost stability and streaming performance specifically for the Enhanced build of GTA V.

Key Components:

• Decals Limit Patch: Increases two internal decal compare limits (default checks are 256 and 512) to the preset you select.
• fwBox Streamer Threshold: Adjusts a guard compare in the engine’s fwBox streaming path to a safer default (0x1004 = 4100).

All changes are minimal, reversible, and memory-only. No files in your GTA V installation are permanently altered.

Features

• Presets (Level 0–4)
  • 0 = Vanilla (512)
  • 1 = Low (768)
  • 2 = Medium (896)
  • 3 = High (1024)
  • 4 = Ultra (2048)
• Dual AOB Strategy: fwBox uses both primary and secondary signatures. If a signature fails, nothing is applied—ensuring safety.
• Runtime Monitor: Optional live logging shows applied addresses and compare values, warning you if anything reverts.
• Minimal-Change Policy: Only immediate values are modified. No gameplay rebalance or pool tuning.

Bugs & Limitations

• Signatures drift after updates: A game update may change addresses. If a match fails, fwBox leaves memory untouched and logs the miss.
• Compatibility: Rare conflicts may occur if another ASI modifies the same instructions. Check logs for unexpected changes.
• Platform: Built for PC Expanded & Enhanced branch. Older GTA V builds may not be compatible.

Troubleshooting

• No log or ASI not loading: Confirm xinput1_4.dll exists in the GTA V folder and isn’t blocked by antivirus.
• “Signature not found” (fwBox): Set DetectionOnly=1 in the INI, relaunch, then review logs.
• Game crashes on boot: Ensure the VC++ 2015–2022 x64 redistributable is installed.
